Hello, everyone!
My name is Amber Angelle and I'm the admin of this forum.
I am a full time college student, and I work part-time at a coffee shop during the summer. So I can be a bit busy at times. Never be afraid to reach out though!
Some more about me...
I am 22 years old, and have been a huge Warriors fan for most of my life. It had been a huge influence on me, and I would have never discovered so many things that I love without it!
I have been RPing Warriors for about 10 years now, and I started on FeralFront, or as it used to be called, Warrior Cats RPG. I spent most my time there outside the main boards, in a section mainly populated by individual, fan-created clans / groups. I made many clans and tribes, but as was the way back then, they did not last long.
I took a break from RPing for a few years, coinciding with some major changes on Feral Front. That changed one day when I found a RP board, here on Proboards, called Edge of Dawn. This board, soon to be renamed Edge of Dusk following a major overhaul, opened my eyes to the possibilities of true roleplay, something which my past experiences did not allow. And for a span of several months, I enjoyed RPing on Edge of Dusk. However, that board has gone inactive, and so combined with my own passion to create a Warriors RP all my own, Out There in the Woods was born.
My inspiration for the site...
My main inspiration for the idea behind the concept was my time spent at Girl Scout camp as a child. These are some of my fondest memories, so I decide to take my childhood campsite and make it a home for these cats. But this group, what become RedwingClan, needed a rival and so I created the Tribe of the Flowing Creek.
Most sites of this kind have more clans/tribes than here. I did this on purpose, because I really wanted to create two truly complex and unique groups. So rather than having, say, four clans that are the same other than the territory they hunt on, I wanted to focus on two groups who had the same sort of territory, but are vastly different in terms of hierarchy, religion, and culture. I wanted the conflict between them to be satisfying, without making one the "bad guy."
Because, like real life, death is scary. We try to find meaning in our lives and therefor put faith in a higher power. And in this case, this raw fear of death has cause these two groups to see things differently. I hope this is an organic form of conflict that is going to be fun to write about, and that you can understand each side's perspective.
Once again, lease don't hesitate to post in the Help board with any question or concern. You may also PM me directly for more serious matters or if it would make you more comfortable.
I'm looking forward to collaborating with all of you and I hope you enjoy playing your characters here in Out There in the Woods.
Happy Hunting!
