Hello there! Welcome to the very first OTW High Rank Auditions! As this is the site-opening we have many positions that need to be filled. And because of this, we are going to have some special rules. Normally, your cat would have to be an already accepted member of your colony before being able to audition. However, this time will be different. You will post your full application in a reply to this post, however, you will add the following sections:


What would they do?: Describe in a paragraph what your cat would do to solve a problem that might come up, that is relevant to the rank they are applying for. For example, if your cat is Wingcamp Captain, how would they deal with a sudden fox attack?

Basically, describe a scene where they would have to use their authority.


A Roleplay Sample: Please give me at least 100 words in a simple roleplay scene. It does not matter what it is and your cat does not even have to speak to other characters. It can even be a simple as your cat deciding what to have to eat.


The first reply to this post is an example of what I am looking for. It is using my own High Rank cat, Ivy. Please look to it for reference.

Because of the amount of positions available, a fair amount of cats, therefore players, will be needed. Please do not be too intimidated to try! You could very well win.

If not, there are many mid-rank positions that need to be filled as well, which can be applied for via normal application.

Because of the unique nature of this audition, we are not counting any cat as being "accepted" until the audition concludes. So it would not be in conflict with the 'one complete cat at a time rule'.

The Personality

General Personality: Ivy is a very serious cat. She is reserved and stoic, and is not one for long or overly flowery conversation. She is loyal beyond measure and would die in an instant for any one of her tribemates. However, she struggles with social situations and finds it hard to relate to her peers. This can cause her to become a bit lonely sometimes, though she would never admit it. She spends all her time thinking only of the tribe, and very little of herself.

Goals: To lead the tribe with dignity and honor.

Fears: That she will make a mistake that would hurt the Tribe.

*Secrets: Her friendship with Sunpaw.

The History

---

Ivy was born to two highly respected members of the tribe. Her mother, [Silver that Shines in Moon], is a member of the Fishing Guild and is Waterblessed. Her father, [Needle that Falls Off Pine], was a member of the Guardian Guild and was Earthblessed. She was born a single kit, and was raised well, first by her mother and then by members of the Caretaker Guild.

The previous Starspeaker, [Light that Glows at Night], chose Ivy to be her Trainee when she was 7 moons old, shortly following her initial training. Ivy was given the blessing of the Star Voice, and therefore was a suitable candidate.

Ivy felt overwhelmed by this sudden great responsibly that was put on her. So, one night, she crept out of camp and went sprinting through the woods, hoping the wind would burn away her fears. She ran so far, she nearly went straight into the creek. And she would have, had she not run into another cat.

This cat was Sunpaw, a RedwingClan apprentice. He had crossed onto Tribe territory out of curiosity. Despite some initial suspicion, the two eventually became friends. Despite Ivy's social troubles, with Sunpaw, it was so easy, somehow. He just made her feel at ease, and she found that with him, she never worried about saying the wrong thing or being weird. He accepted her, just as she was.

For a time, the two would meet in secret. They would talk, and they discover things about each other, like what their favorite type of prey was, or how they got along with their family. Ivy felt truly happy when she was talking to Sunpaw, and all of her worries would just melt away.

However, those days would soon come to an end. One leafbare, a sickness had swept the tribe, claiming many victims's lives, including Ivy's father and... The Starspeaker.

At the young age of only 15 moons, Ivy That Crawls up Pine became the new Speaker of the Stars. Now the most critical leader of The Tribe of the Flowing Creek, Ivy knew her meetings with Sunpaw would have to come to an end.

So, one early dawn, she met with him. She told him of what had happened, and said they could never see each other again. Sunpaw was heartbroken, and tried to convince her otherwise. But Ivy was firm. Her Tribe was everything to her, and she have been chosen to serve it. And she could not do that if she was a friend of their enemy.

So, she left Sunpaw that day, alone on the shore of the creek. They have never seen each other again.

Now moons later, Ivy has given her everything into leading her Tribe. But peace never lasts forever, and soon the storm clouds of conflict between the colonies could thunder into war, a war which could lead her face-to-face with her former friend.

What Would They Do?

---

If Ivy were faced with a cat with a strange illness, something no one as ever seen before, here is what she would do.

She would first isolate the sick cat, so that others will not potentially catch the disease. Then, she would use any obvious symptoms to determine what kind of disease it is, or what it might be similar to that she knows. Then, she would use herbs to help relieve the symptoms, using knowledge of any similar disease.

If these steps fail, she will re-examine the situation. What issues is it causing? It is something she know how to cure? Does it seem stable and consistent or wild and unpredictable?

What sort of changes have occurred, if any?

Once she has examined all of this, she will then rethink her treatment strategy accordingly.

Not matter the result, she will never give up on her patient.

Roleplay Sample

Ivy paused, her eyes still as the water under her paws rippled. She had gone to The Creek without thinking. She had... a lot on her mind. All her troubles swirled around her like a typhoon, dark and uncontrollable.

What was she going to do? Everyone expected so much of her. She could see it, the disappointment in her mother's eyes as she messed up everything.

She could never 'get' others. How was she supposed to lead them?

She looked down at her paws. So small, so... weak. These paws are the ones that are to lead the Tribe to prosperity.

Pretty pathetic paws, if you asked her.
