RedwingClan
The Adventurous & Proud
"Will you be lost by time, or be part of history?
Will your story be told or remain a mystery?"
Will your story be told or remain a mystery?"
Location: RedwingClan is located to the south of The Creek, their territory comprising of an oval-like strip of land almost completely surrounded by water. Pine and oak trees make up part of the landscape, with the other part being large dirt clearings. Buildings constructed by Twolegs are scattered about the territory, most in some form of decay or disrepair. Their camp is located in the east, with dens made of fallen logs and pieces of Twoleg structures. A large, shallow pit sits in the center of camp, with burned rocks and wood within it.
RedwingClan also has a secondary camp, which they call Wingcamp. This camp, located to the west of the territory, is smaller in size than the main camp. It is closely surrounded by large bushes, which most of the dens there are made of. It is about a day's walk from the main camp. Because of this, the cats who used this camp live here full time, and it is run mostly independently.
Character & Ideals: RedwingClan is all about freedom and individual choice. These cats believe that they are in charge of their own destinies. They are proud, and will not shy away from a fight. They are loyal to each other and to their ideals. Each RedwingClan cat dreams of glory, of being a great hero to their clanmates. Strength and courage are valued here.
Religion: RedwingClan believes in The Voices, just as the Tribe do. However, their interpretation of The Voices differ. To the Clan, The Voices never gave up their corporal forms. They exist as spirits, who exist as a part of nature, but still retain their identities.
Cats of the Clan believe that they will walk with the Voices when they die, and they too will retain their form and sense of self.
However, The Voices do not carry the same weight or importance, in comparison to the Tribe. If a Clan cat were to not believe in The Voices, it would be odd, but not a source of conflict or drama. To the Clan, The Voices act as guides only in the most desperate of times, and are not the focus of daily life.
The Sky Voice, Bird that Flies on Red Wings, who is usually referred to by Clan cats as Redwing, is the most revered of the Voices as it was he who was said to have appeared before the clan's founder.
Hierarchy:
High Ranks
Warden: The Warden is the sole leader of RedwingClan. They make all major decisions and conduct ceremonies. They live in the main camp, and oversee all daily activities. They have the highest authority, and they appoint all Wingcamp cats to their positions as well as grant full names. The Warden's word is law, and it must be followed. They are also the cat with the greatest connection to the Voices.
Right-Paws: Two cats who are the second-in-commands who help the Warden in organizing patrols and daily activates. They live in the main camp. Once the Warden either dies or retires, a competition is held. In this competition, the two Right-Paws compete with each other in tests of hunting, combat, and other essential skills. Whoever wins becomes the new Warden. They then decide whether to keep the loser as one of their Right-Paws or to remove them. A cat who is removed from the position will return to the rank in which they were before their promotion.
Wing Captain: This cat is the leader of Wingcamp. In essence, they act as a Warden for Wingcamp, but overall still falls under the rule of the actual Warden. They oversee the daily activities of Wingcamp and has the authority to make decisions, including the granting of full names. This cat is chosen by the Warden, who then serves for 2 years, which can be extended at the Warden's discretion.
Wing Second: This cat is the second-in-command of Wingcamp. They help organize patrols and has the capacity to temporarily act as Wing Captain in the case of an emergency. This cat is chosen by the Warden, who then serves for 2 years.

Their duty is to mentor Fledglings until they are about to pass their Scout Assessment, usually at around 12 moons of age. These cats can take on 3 Fledglings at a time. Cats of this rank are typically 30+ moons in age.
Normal Ranks

Junior Scouts may rank up to Senior via recommendation from a Patrol Leader. Senior Scouts enjoy the privileges of sleeping closer to the center of the den and having the best pick of prey.
Junior Scouts: Young cats who have passed their Scout assessment and received their full name. They are the backbone of the Clan, and are the main force for hunting and fighting.
Fledglings: Young cats of at least 6 moons of age who have begun their training.
Kit Supervisors: Cats expecting or nursing kits. They tend to their kits until they are old enough to become Fledglings.

History:
There was once a cat by the name of Warden. He was charming and brave. He had lived his life alone for a long time, living in an alley. Over time, he gain many friends and allies, and they decided they needed a better place to live. So, they traveled, and for many moons they walked across the land searching for a place to call their own.
Eventually, they came upon a forest. This forest had clearly been populated by Twolegs at one time, but they seemed to have abandoned the area, as no trace of them could be found. While they explored this strange place, they found something truly astonishing. Cats! And lots of them. Across a large creek they found a huge colony of cats, who called themselves The Tribe of the Flowing Creek. They were very different from any cats Warden had ever know. Warden then spoke with their leader, the cat they called the Starspeaker. Warden then convinced them to allow his group to stay with the Tribe for a time, and in return they would hunt for the Tribe. The Starspeaker agreed and so that is how it was for several moons.
Until, one night. Warden had a dream. In the dream, he spoke with one of the deities the tribe revered, the one they called Bird that Flies on Red Wings. And he told Warden the truth. That the Tribe were mistaken, that they never gave up their corporal forms when they died, and neither would any cat who died.
Warden awoke with a purpose. He had to tell the Tribe the truth, and free them from their delusions.
However... this news was not well received. The Tribe were furious and so Warden and his group was banished! This embittered Warden, who along side his companions and the tribecats who saw the truth and joined him, he vowed to create his own colony, one to rival the Tribe and live as the Voices really intended. And he knew just where to settle.
They took over the Twoleg-littered territory and made it their own. And so, they became RedwingClan.
Over time, their came to be a growing concern on how to protect all their borders, given the large size of their territory. So, the Warden at the time, the leadership position named after their founder, decided to found a secondary camp on the opposite end of their land. This became known as Wingcamp. The idea was that will a secondary camp, a small group of cats can live over on that side, so it will always be patrolled and protected.
Traditions:
Song Circles
Song Circles are a tradition that takes place at least once a moon. The cats of the clan will gather around the fire pit once night falls. A fire will be lit and the cats will yowl out in joy and sing. Cats will also eat during this time, it is a sort of small festival honoring the Clan. Elders tell stories while others may just snooze by the fire.
The Moonly Clan Gathering
Once a moon, while the full moon hangs in the sky, A selection of cats from both the main and Wingcamp will journey to the Fallen Tree Circle. That night news will be shared between the 'two halves' of the Clan and promotions will be performed. It is a time of bonding and conversation between cats who do not normally get to see each other.
Lifestyle & Culture:
Wingcamp VS Main Camp
Over time, Wingcamp's reputation within clan culture changed. It became a place cats were assigned if they were seen as having no real potential. A true secondary camp, inferior in all ways to, what become known colloquially as, the Main Camp. The highest rank a cat who has mostly lived in Wingcamp can achieve is Wing Captain, which is still under the rule of the Warden.
A dividing has begun to grow, with the two groups seeing each other as just that, two groups. Separate. Different.
In addition, cats of the Main Camp enjoy certain benefits that those of Wingcamp do not, such as Songs Circles and campfires. The most elite cats of the clan live in the Main Camp, leaving those of WingCamp to be seen as the "back ups" or "lesser".
In a clan so full of ambition as this one, being placed on Wingcamp assignment is like a death sentence on any chance to achieve "true greatness".
Will this divide continue to deepen? If it does, it may create fractures in the clan that can never be fixed.
